Do you know what an air filter element is?

It is a type of filter that is also known as an air filter cartridge or simply an air filter. It is mainly used in engineering locomotives, automobiles, agricultural machinery, laboratories and aseptic and precision operation rooms.

During engine operation, a large volume of air is drawn in. If this air is not filtered, suspended dust will be sucked into the cylinder, accelerating the wear of the piston group and cylinder. Larger particles entering the space between the piston and the cylinder can cause severe cylinder pulling, which is particularly problematic in dry and sandy environments. The air filter is installed in front of the carburettor or intake pipe to filter out dust and sand particles and ensure a sufficient amount of clean air enters the cylinder.

Advantages and disadvantages of air filter elements

All air filter elements have their own pros and cons, but inevitably there is a trade-off between intake volume and filtration efficiency. As research into air filters becomes more in-depth, the requirements for them are becoming higher and higher. Some new types of air filter have emerged to meet the needs of engine operation, such as fibre filter element air filters, compound filter material air filters, silencing air filters and constant-temperature air filters.
