Factors affecting the service life of hydraulic oil filter cartridges

I. Contamination degree of hydraulic oil.

The main reason for the failure of oil filters (filter elements) in actual hydraulic systems is a high level of contamination. This increases the burden on the filter cartridge and shortens its service life. The greater the contamination of the hydraulic oil, the shorter the filter element's service life. To prevent the service life of the filter cartridge from being reduced due to contamination of the hydraulic oil, it is essential to strictly restrict the pathways through which environmental pollution can enter the hydraulic system.

ii. Issues with hydraulic oil.

Once the target cleanliness grade of the hydraulic oil system has been determined, it is crucial to ensure that the system always operates at this grade. Operating at the required basic cleanliness level can minimise component wear caused by system contamination and extend the system's lifespan. The target cleanliness grade of the hydraulic system indirectly determines the service life of the filter element.
