How Much Do You Know about Filter Cartridges?

These are professional terms referring to devices that filter and purify fluids. As the name suggests, they are simple devices used to purify raw fluids and separate resources. They are mainly used for gas-liquid separation, solid-liquid separation, exhaust dust filtration and environmental protection. Currently, filter cartridges are primarily categorised by material as follows: stainless steel, copper, titanium, and plastic. They are used in oil, air and water filtration, as well as in fields such as machinery, electronics, petroleum, chemical engineering and transportation.

The filter element separates solid particles from liquids or gases and enables different material components to come into full contact with each other, thereby accelerating the reaction time. This protects the normal operation of equipment and ensures clean air. When fluid enters the filter elementthrough a filter screen with a certain specification, impurities are blocked and clean fluid flows out. The liquid filter cartridgecleans contaminated liquids (including oil and water) to the level required for production and everyday use.

For example: The main filtering material used for air filter cartridgesis filter paper. Nowadays, filter paper for filter elements is made from a combination of domestic and imported paper. Both types of paper offer good filtering performance. Domestic paper comes from the Nanpo Design Institute, while imported paper comes from the American HV Company. However, counterfeit and substandard filter paper cannot prevent dust from entering the engine, thereby affecting its normal operation. Generally, genuine, high-quality filter elements have filter paper with a pure, uniform colour and smooth surface. However, low-quality paper has a rough surface and poor texture.

The rubber of the filter element: The filter elementis generally composed of filter paper and rubber bonded together. There are also differences in the authenticity of the rubber used. The rubber of genuine filter cartridges is of a higher quality with greater elasticity, whereas the rubber of counterfeit filter elements is soft and poor quality. One relatively simple way to tell the difference is to fold the air filter element in half. After loosening it, the genuine filter cartridge will quickly return to its original shape. In contrast, the counterfeit filter element does not bond well with the filter paper due to an issue with the rubber surface, so the middle mark of the folded part will be very obvious.

Thirdly, it is also very important to maintain and care for the filter cartridge:

2.After a period of use, the filter element has intercepted a certain amount of contaminated impurities. At this point, the pressure increases and the flow rate gradually decreases. The signal transmitter will sound an alarm. It is therefore necessary to clean the filter elementand remove the impurities in a timely manner.
